Privacy

The Melbourne Vaccine Education Centre (MVEC) is led by The Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI). MVEC collects, holds and uses personal information in accordance with MCRI’s General Privacy Policy which can be found here.

On this page, we set out some additional information relating specifically to privacy and MVEC.

Subscribing to MVEC newsletters

By clicking on the “Subscribe” tab on this website, you can subscribe to MVEC communications including the MVEC newsletter.

The details which you enter to become a subscriber will be used by MVEC solely for the purposes of providing you with communications from MVEC.  Your personal information will not be used for any other purpose without your consent.

MVEC uses the communications platform Campaign Monitor to distribute communications to its subscribers.  MVEC therefore needs to transfer your personal information to Campaign Monitor to enable our communications to be sent to you.  Campaign Monitor is an Australian company but some of the data it receives is stored and processed through its US servers.  Where Campaign Monitor transfers personal information overseas, it requires subcontractors or data processors to comply with privacy standards equivalent to Australian Privacy Laws.

You can opt out of receiving communications from MVEC at any time by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any MVEC email or by sending your request to us at [email protected].

Purchasing tickets to events

Through the MVEC website, we promote events from time to time and you may be able to purchase tickets through the “Events” page. We may use third party service providers (such as Stripe) to process your personal information in order to allocate you tickets for an MVEC event.

Financial information about individuals who have purchased tickets for an MVEC event is held and processed on our behalf by Stripe. We do not know, or have access to, any purchaser’s debit or credit card or bank account information.

We may also need to share your personal details with our third party collaborators, such as organisations and institutes who are assisting MVEC to conduct and host an event.

After you have attended one of our events, we may send you an email with a link to a survey asking for feedback on the event.  Your survey responses will be stored by MCRI and used only for internal purposes such as to plan future events.

Registering for eLearning packages

Through the MVEC Education Portal, you can register for our e-Learning packages which aim to assist immunisation providers to further develop their immunisation knowledge and consolidate their technical skills.

The details you enter at the time of registration (such as your name and email address) will be used to deliver the relevant module and to generate a personalised certificate of completion once you have successfully completed the packages.
