CVU mini – Friday 21 June 2024 (postponed)
Due to overlap and parallels with other upcoming RSV events, we are postponing RSV presentations until our October CVU and will no longer be holding a separate CVU mini on 21 June 2024.
MVEC’s CVU mini was planned to be on the topic of RSV preventative therapies, offering healthcare professionals the opportunity to hear from leading experts on the latest in RSV prevention.

The competition closes Monday 29 April, and entrants will be notified of the outcome by Wednesday 1 May 2024.

Please note: Parking is available onsite at RCH ($34 for full day); time-limited, on-street parking is available in the surrounding streets; RCH is accessible via tram routes 57, 58 and 59.
Attendees can submit questions for the panellists to respond to in the final session. Please submit your questions for the Q&A session before COB Wednesday 19 June 2024.

Ms Rachael McGuire

Rachael is a Registered Nurse and accredited Nurse Immuniser with a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Education. She has experience immunising at local council, travel clinics and hospital immunisation services, including SAEFVIC. Her special interests lie in vaccine safety, the immunisation of special risk groups and vaccine equity. In 2023, Rachael’s enthusiasm for public health led to her involvement in DFAT-funded projects in Lao PDR, providing education and support to improve decision-making around immunisation policy.
Prof Nigel Crawford
Director, MVEC, Murdoch Children’s Research Institute

Dr Julia Marshall
Human Infection Challenge Trial Consultant, The Peter Doherty Institute
Julia is Một General Practitioner and Public Health Registrar and works as a Clinician-Scientist at The Peter Doherty Institute in vaccine development. For her PhD Julia developed the first controlled human infection model of aerosol BCG to aid in tuberculosis vaccine development and the world’s first SARS-CoV-2 human re-infection challenge model. She is a member of ATAGI.
Dr Ingrid Laemmle-Ruff
Immunisation Consultant, SAEFVIC, Murdoch Children’s Research Institute
Dr Ingrid Laemmle-Ruff is a general paediatrician and public health physician. She works in vaccine safety at SAEFVIC and in community paediatrics. She has interests in immunisation, immigrant health and child public health.
