We are excited to welcome our panel who will take an in-depth look at an important vaccine safety signal associated with COVID-19 mRNA vaccines (Pfizer and Moderna), myocarditis and pericarditis. The session will also include a live Q&A panel with experts from the medical, consumer (Heart Foundation) and vaccine safety domains.

  • 12-15 वर्ष की आयु के आदिवासी और टोरेस स्ट्रेट आइलैंडर बच्चे
  • व्यापक सामुदायिक आउटरीच टीकाकरण कार्यक्रमों के हिस्से के रूप में, दूरदराज के समुदायों में 12-15 वर्ष की आयु के सभी बच्चे, जो सभी उम्र (≥12 वर्ष) के लिए टीके प्रदान करते हैं।

We have updated our maternal vaccination page to reflect the recommendation that pregnant women are routinely offered Comirnaty™, the Pfizer mRNA COVID-19 vaccine, at any stage of pregnancy.

Pregnant women who did not receive COVID-19 vaccines prior to conception, are prioritised to receive COVID-19 vaccines during their pregnancy as part of Phase 1b of the vaccine rollout.

MVEC Animation: Thrombosis with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome (TTS) explained

MVEC have created a new animation to help to explain Thrombosis with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome (TTS), a rare and newly identified syndrome which has been reported in people who have received adenoviral vector COVID-19 vaccines such as COVID-19 AstraZeneca and the Johnson & Johnson/Janssen COVID-19 vaccine. This short animation helps to describe what it is, who is at risk and how TTS is diagnosed.

New resource: The MVEC Conversation: Vaccine Confidence

The Melbourne Vaccine Education Centre is excited to announce our latest resource The MVEC Conversation: Vaccine Confidence​. This two-part series features vaccine communication experts A/Prof Margie Danchin and Dr Jessica Kaufman and is designed to equip you with the knowledge and practical skills required to confidently address vaccine questions in the community.

पीart 1 – Using both qualitative and quantitative research methods, and ​applying principles from social and behavioural science, our vaccine experts discuss findings from the COVID-19 Vaccine Preparedness Study​. We explore ​people’s intention to vaccinate and delve into ways in which people can be supported to reach this decision. 

Part 2 – We look at the ​importance of a being a ​Vaccine Champion and provide you with practical communication strategies to help build vaccine confidence and improve vaccine uptake.

MVEC eLearning: Vaccines in Pregnancy

MVEC are excited to launch the next of our eLearning packages. Our eLearning packages are designed to allow immunisation providers to consolidate and evaluate their technical skills. Targeted resources are available to assist with our eLearning and a certificate of completion will be made available upon completion of the corresponding eLearning quiz.

Vaccines in Pregnancy has been designed to provide an overview of vaccines that are recommended in pregnancy, vaccines that are contraindicated in pregnancy and the process to follow if a contraindicated vaccine is inadvertently administered during pregnancy.
