MVEC’s CDIC social media poll: Results
At the recent पब्लिक हेल्थ एसोसिएशन ऑफ़ ऑस्ट्रेलिया (PHAA) Communicable Diseases & Immunisation Conference, MVEC invited conference attendees to answer a poll on our Instagram account (@mvecau) about their vaccine education experiences on social media.
We learnt that:
- all respondents had seen vaccine misinformation or disinformation on social media
- all who work with patients had had a patient raise concerns based on something they viewed on social media
- most (88%) had learnt something about vaccines from an evidence-based, reliable social media account
- most (93%) believe social media has a place in vaccine education.
The misinformation topic most respondents would like to see addressed by evidence-based social media creators is conspiracies.
Thank you so much to everyone who responded to the poll!
