Thank you to all who attended our recent CVU miniseries event Hot topics in vaccine science on 12th April 2021.

Presentation topics included Influenza vaccines for 2021, COVID-19 vaccine: vaccine allergy and rollout, as well as an update of the Novavax NVX-CoV2373. In addition to these topics, there was also an update on vaccine safety concerns around clotting syndromes associated with the COVID-19 AstraZeneca vaccine.

Additional module added to Victorian COVID-19 eLearning Competency

An additional module titled Preparing Comirnaty™ (Pfizer BNT162b2) COVID-19 Vaccine has been added to the Victorian COVID-19 eLearning Competency.

Please note the advice contained in this module is specific to the COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine BNT162b2 (Comirnaty™).

If you have already completed the Victorian COVID-19 eLearning Competency you can login and access this additional module via your profile in the MVEC Education Portal.

Victorian COVID-19 e-Learning Competency

Developed in partnership with the Victorian Government Department of Health, The Victorian COVID-19 e-Learning Competency is the latest course available on the MVEC education portal. This competency forms part of the pre-requisite training requirements for Victorian emergency authorised registered health professionals to administer COVID -19 vaccines.

The aim of completing this competency is to assist health professionals to be appropriately trained and competent to deliver COVID-19 vaccines.

MVEC eLearning: Use of Multi-Dose Vials

MVEC are excited to launch the next of our eLearning packages. Our eLearning packages are designed to allow immunisation providers consolidate and evaluate their technical skills. Targeted resources are available to assist with our eLearning and a certificate of completion will be made available upon completion of the corresponding eLearning quiz.

Use of Multi-Dose Vials has been designed to demonstrate the safe preparation and storage of vaccines from multi-dose vials that require reconstitution and from those that do not.
