Instagram and GoFundMe block anti-vaccine campaigns
In a bid to stop the spread of misleading information surrounding immunisation, the online crowdfunding platform, GoFundMe, has recently announced that campaigns aiming to raise money to promote the anti-vaccine movement will be removed from their service.
Similarly, the social media platform Instagram, has also announced that it will be blocking any anti-vaccine hashtags to combat the spread of misinformation across the internet.

Professor David Isaacs (Paediatric Infectious Diseases, University of Sydney) has recently published a new book regarding the history of vaccination and the impact on our future health.
We are honoured that this book will be sold at our upcoming Clinical Vaccinology Update (CVU) on Friday 26th April 2019 and Prof. Isaacs will be in person to autograph every book!

New immunisation resource for children
The Mexican Virology Network was founded in 2015 with the aims of promoting research into virus detection and treatment. To reflect their keen interest in communicating facts about diseases and prevention, they have created a new children's book outlining the importance of vaccination. "Paul has Measles" hopes to teach children, their parents and their teachers how important it is to prevent infectious diseases. Influenza vaccine for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
The November meeting of the PBAC saw a positive endorsement for the extension of the influenza vaccine program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 5 -17 years. This decision supports influenza vaccine funding for Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander people of all ages on the NIP.

The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) has developed a series of factsheets detailing various vaccine preventable diseases (VPD's). These fact sheets provide information regarding the diseases, the number of cases reported in Australia, as well as rates of hospitalisation and deaths.
