This year’s Communicable Diseases & Immunisation Conference (CDIC) will be held in Brisbane from Tuesday 11 to Thursday 13 June 2024.

This year's conference theme is ‘Protecting Communities: empowering health through Disease Control and Immunisation’.

Immunisation Coalition: 2024 Annual Immunisation Forum

Immunisation Coalition will be hosting their 8th Annual Immunisation Forum on 14 June 2024 in Brisbane. 

The free, full-day event for immunisation specialists can be attended in person or via Zoom. The event will explore topics such as aged care, new vaccines for older people, adjuvanted vaccines, vaccinations in primary care and pharmacy, managing vaccine hesitancy and targeting at-risk populations.

CVU mini: Register now

Registration is now open for the upcoming MVEC CVU mini.

The CVU mini will focus on RSV preventative therapies.

Immunisation Coalition: Free flu vaccines

As part of Immunisation Action Week, the Immunisation Coalition will be running a free Influenza Vaccination Day in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide. In Melbourne, the free vaccine is available for people aged between 18 and 64 years. Walk-ins may be available on the day, but booking is recommended to secure a place.

Immunisation Coalition: 2024 Influenza webinar

Immunisation Coalition will hold its 2024 Influenza webinar on Wednesday 3 April 2024, from 6:00 pm–7:00 pm. 

This annual update is intended for GPs, nurse practitioners, pharmacists and other immunisation professionals. The webinar will be presented by Angela Newbound.

Queensland Specialist Immunisation Service: Paediatric Immunisation Skills Workshop

Children’s Health Queensland’s Specialist Immunisation Service is hosting a Paediatric Immunisation Skills Workshop on 3 May 2024.

Topics to be covered include:

  • comfort positioning and giving multiple vaccines 
  • procedural anxiety and distraction techniques 
  • vaccine hesitancy conversations 
  • the National Immunisation Program and catching up vaccination 
  • anaphylaxis, adverse events and reporting.

Immunisation Coalition: 25th Annual Scientific Meeting conference recordings

The Immunisation Coalition’s 25th Annual Scientific Meeting was held from 4 to 5 February 2024.

The meeting was chaired by A/Prof Lou Irving from the Royal Melbourne Hospital and covered topics including Epidemiology of Infectious Diseases, Economics and Long-Term Implications of Vaccines, Primary Care and Vaccination, and Respiratory Virus Vaccines.

Immunisation Coalition: Influenza / COVID-19 / RSV webinar series

The Immunisation Coalition is hosting a series of 3 webinars on common vaccine-preventable respiratory viruses over the next three months, to be held on: 

  • 17 April 2024
  • 22 May 2024
  • 19 June 2024

These will include parent discussions on how the influenza, COVID-19 and RSV season is progressing and strategies around increasing vaccination rates.
