MVEC has recently updated its asplenia and hyposplenia immunisation reference page to reflect the 1 July 2026 changes to the adult 肺炎球菌 vaccination schedule.
All adults living without a functioning spleen are recommended to receive one dose of Capvaxive as soon as possible, and at least 12 months following their last dose of any pneumococcal vaccine.
